If you do not see the type of Pastoral Care you need below, please contact us at 972-436-9581 and let us know how we can help.
Anointing of the Sick
St. Philip's offers scheduled Anointing of the Sick during the 9 AM Mass on the first Friday of every month, and also at any weekend Mass on request (speak to the receptionist in the Narthex before Mass for assistance). If your illness prevents you from coming to the church, contact the Parish Office at 972-436-9581 to request a visit from a priest. After hours and on weekends, call 972-709-2364.
Visits to the Sick and Homebound
If you or a family member is in or scheduled to be in the hospital, please contact the Parish Office at 972-436-9581 to request a visit from a priest. In addition, our volunteers visit local nursing facilities, private homes, and hospitals on a regular basis, bringing prayer, Scripture, and Holy Communion. Please contact the Parish Office at 972-436-9581 to be added to the list.
St. Peregrine's Peeps
If you have cancer and would appreciate the comforting support of others who have cancer, please join one of our sessions, offered on the 4th Thursday of each month. Together we will learn how to better cope with the cancer experience and, at the same time, increase our hope and faith. St. Peregrine, patron of cancer patients, pray for us! Contact Susan Schabel at [email protected] or 214-222-6707 for more information.
Cancer Prayer Group
If you have been diagnosed with cancer, please let us know so that we can add you to the list for our Cancer Prayer Group. Our group meets every Monday in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at 9 AM to prayer for all those afflicted with cancer.
Friendly Visitors
If you are feeling lonely or isolated, the Friendly Visitors program helps by providing social interaction and fellowship among parishioners. Volunteers are always sent out in pairs. Contact Susan Schabel at [email protected] or 214-222-6707 for more information.
Confession
Scheduled Confessions are available on Wednesdays from 4:30-6 PM and on Saturdays from 2:30-3:15 PM. If it's been a while since your last Confession, or you're not sure what to do, contact the Parish Office for a private appointment at 972-436-9581.
Spiritual Direction
To request spiritual direction from one of the priests, please contact the Parish Office at 972-436-9581 to request an appointment.
